I always loved how The Muppets treated kids with the respect they deserve. They knew kids didn’t know who Joel Grey was, but the Muppets would keep them entertained and they’d probably be introduced to something new. They were right! Even better was that it was a result of a low budget - they made this in the UK and couldn’t afford to fly big name guest stars over just to be in the show, so they were either stars already in the UK promoting something, or West End stars whose day off coincided with the recording day for The Muppets.

This scene always had me laughing as a kid especially with Kermit’s chicken joke.

The Muppet Show was a delightful part of my childhood. The show had such incredible guests... Harry Belafonte, Rita Moreno, Vincent Price, John Denver, and, of course, the Alice Cooper episode was spooky for an seven-year-old. LOL! Wonderful fun!
